Why do I need a dedicated IP address?

All standard RapidDelivery accounts use shared IP addresses for delivering your emails. Optionally, you may also associate your account with a dedicated IP address. A dedicated IP address has the following advantages:

• Faster email delivery
• Easier to whitelist
• Better delivery rates

Administering dedicated IP addresses requires a lot of manual labor by our system administrators, as each IP address needs to be manually setup and registered with the major outlets in order to implement feedback loops and provide correct DNS configuration, which is the reason why they are only available at a surcharge.

I got a dedicated IP address from my hosting provider, can't I use that one?

As RapidDelivery is a closed-loop system, it is not possible to use the dedicated IP of your hosting provider to deliver emails. Even if there was a way to utilize it, you might get into trouble with your provider if you use their IP for delivering mailings, that's why RapidDelivery delivers email through its own IP ranges.
